Memory competition
Memory competition? (5 minutes)
This works well for review if you are doing a lesson which takes more than one “class” or for topics that are already familiar with..
First divide them into two teams. Have each person individually make a list of anything they can remember. They will have one minute. The more they write, the more points they can earn for their team. The next step is to have them work with one or two other people (from their team) to expand their list. Again,
they have one minute and remind them that more is better. Finally, they will pair up with someone from the other team to compare lists. Have them circle
anything on their list that the person from the other team did not remember. They earn a point for each item they circle. Then total all the points earned to see which team wins.[Remember – doing team “competitions” does not always mean you have to reward them with something tangible. ]
