Using the diagram shown, draw a similar one of the board or provide a paper with the organizer for each person/child. Fill out information as following: 3 –three blocks on the bottom level of the pyramid – Three main events from the passage or three big ideas/concepts. 2 – two blocks on the middle level of the pyramid – TWO QUESTIONS Ask them to tthink of two questions they have. It can be words they don’t understand or ideas that are confusing to them. Encourage them to think of questions that start with Why? and How? 1 – top block / top level of pyramid – ONE CONNECTION The top block is for them to think of a connection to something they have already experienced. They can related it to something that happened to them, something they saw/read in a movie/book, or maybe something that they learned about elsewhere (in school or another Bible lesson). This is for comparison purposes. BLAST OFF – the starburst area above the pyramid – APPLICATION This is the part where the make application to their lives. Challenge them to pick one thing they can do in the next couple days that will use what they have learned or one way that God is asking them to change. Encourage them to make a specific commitment, not just generic statements. TIPS: Again, for younger learners, draw this and work on it together. For the Blast Off portion, they can draw/act out specific situations. For older classes, have them share the 3-2-1 parts in partners or small groups. |
